Lynne has established the Sydney Harbour dining afloat benchmark to which other boats aspire. Charterers can choose from OR mix and match various menus. Lynne can even design a menu entirely to your taste & price…. Anything is possible because Lynne & John do their own catering using only the freshest and finest ingredients. The American gourmet magazine “Bon Appetit” has written to Lynne, requesting one of her recipes for publication in the USA and she has even published a cook book entitled “Gourmet Sailing….Delicious Dining on the Great Barrier Reef & other delights”. Their extensive range of buffet, finger food & fine dining menus (together with prices) are displayed on the BHS website.

There are another two the saloon area. We have an iPod with over 3,500 songs, guests iPhones and androids can be connected directly to our system or via Blue Tooth.

Is there any heating equipment onboard?

We have a small gas stove with an even smaller two shelved oven underneath, it is really only suitable for re-heating already cooked food. If used, there will need to be someone in galley the whole time the oven is in service (for safety). Whilst they are on duty in the galley, they may feel very isolated from the fun everyone else is having up on deck because no drinks are permitted to be taken below deck. If clients want to use the oven (internal dimensions are 370mm wide by 400mm deep and the vertical distance between shelves is 90mm), I suggest they use appropriately sized tin foil baking trays. Using the oven to re-heat food is quite time consuming especially for large groups.

Are plates, glasses / cups, cutlery included?

Charterer is to provide plastic drinking utensils, plastic plates and knives & forks for all guests. By prior arrangement, the following are available on board : unlimited top quality glasses $2.00 per person, plastic plates $1 per person and stainless steel cutlery $2.00 per person (for all catering equipment the total cost is $4 per person) Large platters are available at no charge.

Yes there is a medium sized barbeque but charterer is responsible for the cooking / barbequing and all handling of food and drink when self – catering, because of Covid 19 regulations which are in force regarding the serving and cooking of food. Best for the charterer to call us prior to the charter for advice and discuss what they intend to cook.

Can we have a DJ?

Yes, providing the DJ's equipment is not too large. Charterer is reminded that when we are at anchor in a bay or close to other vessels we cannot have the music too loud because we have to be mindful of how sound travels over water and that both nearby vessels may not have the same taste in music and also homes on the waterfront will not appreciate very loud music! However when cruising in the middle of the harbour music can be louder. Please check with us to ensure your DJ will be suitable for our yacht well prior to the charter especially if you have more than 40 guests aboard.

Is swimming allowed?

Yes swimming is allowed. Just bring your own towels. We have a very large swimming platform at the rear of our yacht with a long ladder making it very easy to get in and out of the water.

Any other rules the organisers and guests should know?

The charterer must supply to the cruise operator via the charter agent, a complete list of all guests (manifest) in word format (not Excel or PDF) no later than one week prior to the charter. This is so the crew can ensure boarding can be as fast and easy as possible. The boat is not permitted to be tied up at the wharf more than 14 minutes because subsequent access to the wharf will be booked by another vessel. If guests or numbers change after the manifest is submitted, an up to date manifest must be sent no later than the day prior to the charter. Please ensure that all your guests know well in advance that they have to be punctual, especially in the CBD where all wharves are booked and we are not allowed to return to the wharf to pick up any latecomers. If anyone is late they will have to hire a water taxi to join us at their expense. We ask all guests to be actually WAITING ON THE WHARF AND READY TO BOARD at the agreed time. Prior to boarding, all guests will have their temperature taken and recorded on the manifest alongside their name and their phone number will be checked. On boarding, guest will be required to use the hand sanitizer before moving around the boat and will be required at all times to observe the mandatory regulations regarding social distancing and dancing rules in particular. It is a requirement of Sydney Sundancer that all guests over 14 must be double vaccinated and everyone will need to show proof of vaccination before boarding. At the conclusion of the cruise when requested, all guests must remain totally silent to allow effective communication between the skipper and the crew members. This condition is mandatory for passenger and vessel safety, should any of the guests not follow instructions and damages result, the cost of the repairing that damage will be deducted from the bond. If no security bond has been taken by the agent an estimate of the cost of repair will be charged to the credit card supplied. We know that guests will have had a lovely time aboard and can be very happy, sometimes pretty loud upon departure, but we ask that they refrain from making a noise until they are well away from the wharf!! Guests will be advised 10 minutes prior to disembarkation to gather their belongings and must be ready to depart the yacht as soon as the skipper gives the order, because there will be other vessels scheduled to use the wharf.
